Ivanhoe Project

When the Homeowners of this family home in Ivanhoe approached Period Extensions & Designs, they advised that they were looking for a Builder who would work with them to deliver a quality construction, built to last for generations to come. They also wanted a Builder who would work with them  to create a family home that was not only is solid and robust in structure, but looked amazing on the surface. 

Taking cues from their Greek Family heritage, the Homeowners were emphatic that the structure had to be strong, durable, and permanent. The underlying premise of the brief was that everything had to be in steel & cement sheeting as this construction was going to last. This family intended to stay in their Ivanhoe home for the long term.  

They were also looking for someone who could suggest ways to inject some style and modern character into their home.  

We achieved this by keeping some of the original rear of the home exposed, which gives you a glimpse of the solid construction underneath. The use of steel trusses allowed us to really open up the Living area off the kitchen and create some interest in the ceiling giving a sense of space. Keeping existing round windows while adding skylights to this space provides further detail and character while letting in light.   

Combined with clever styling & product selections, and directives to build using the best in solid materials. Period Extensions have proven quality construction & design – the results speak for themselves!
